2018 Kentucky Open

     THE KENTUCKY CHECKER TOURNAMENT will be held (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), October 19th, 20th, & 21st, 2018 at La Quinta Inn, 1751 Lexington Road, Richmond, Kentucky 40475 (map), laquintarichmondky.com. We are planning a 3 day tournament, instead of our usually schedule which will be 10 rounds of two games each - 3 rounds Friday starting 9 AM, 4 rounds Saturday starting 8 AM, and 3 rounds Sunday starting 8 AM.  A block of 10 rooms will be held until October 17th, 2018, you should book your room early (reservations by September 1, 2018). Room rates are $79.00/each night. Motel has been completely renovated inside and out. Call 859-623-9121 for reservations, each room has New TV and Two Queen Beds, free continental breakfast and swimming pool. Cracker Barrel Restaurant next door. The 2018 Kentucky State Open was held October 19, 2018 in Richmond, Kentucky.  Congratulations to: the winner and state champion,
Arthur Mays,10 points, Jerry Askins had 8 points and Shelby Mays had 2 points.  This is my last tournament as a referee, Leon Creek.
